Privacy notice

This notice is maintained by TMC Metals and Waste Limited and explains how we handle personal data.

Who we are

TMC Metals and Waste Limited is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can contact us at office@tmcmetals.co.uk or 01234 567 890.

What we collect

  • Your name, email address and phone number.
  • The collection address and postcode.
  • Details of the waste you have asked us to collect.
  • Quotes, job history, and the documents produced for each job.
  • An on-site signature and the name of the person signing, captured on completion of a collection.
  • Account login details if you create a customer account.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • Performing our contract with you — quoting, scheduling and carrying out your collection, and letting you see your jobs in your account.
  • Legal obligation — producing and retaining waste transfer notes and related duty of care records as required by waste legislation.
  • Legitimate interests — keeping records of work carried out, resolving disputes and protecting our business.

How long we keep it

Waste transfer notes and the collection details recorded on them are kept for at least two years, as required by waste duty of care rules. Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted within twelve months. Account data is kept while your account is open and for six years afterwards where it relates to completed work and associated financial records.

Who we share it with

We share data only with our own staff and drivers who need it to do the job, our hosting and IT providers who process data on our instructions, and regulators or authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell your data or use it for third-party marketing.

Your rights

You have the right to access a copy of your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to ask for deletion, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. These rights are limited where we must keep records to meet a legal obligation — we cannot delete a waste transfer note within its statutory retention period.

To exercise any of these rights, email office@tmcmetals.co.uk. We will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Security and storage

Data is stored on access-controlled hosted infrastructure. Customer records are restricted so that customers see only their own jobs, drivers see only the jobs assigned to them, and full access is limited to office staff. Documents are held in private storage and served only to people entitled to see them.

Cookies

We use only the cookies and local storage required to keep you signed in and to keep the site working. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
